Thrombosis is the clotting of blood within a blood vessel, which is a life threatening illness. Thrombosis occurs when a blood clot blocks a vein or an artery, obstructing the flow of blood, it can occur anywhere in the body's bloodstream. There are 2 main types of thrombosis:venous thrombosis where a blood clot develops in a vein and arterial thrombosis, where a blood clot develops in an artery. Thrombosis symptoms depend on the type and location of the blood clot.
