Arterial thrombosis means a clot in the artery. Symptoms depend on where the blood clot in the artery is. A blood clot in an artery can cause heart disease and angina (chest pain that occurs when the blood supply to the heart is reduced); heart attack (when a blood clot completely blocks an artery that pumps blood to the heart); stroke (blood clot blocking an artery that supplies blood to the brain). Blood clots in the arteries of the legs cause pain and numbness in the legs.
