Symptoms of a blood clot in the veins include:pain and swelling at the blood clot site, heavy ache, warm itchy skin rash, veins that stand out from the skin and mild fever. Deep vein thrombosis(DVT), a blood clot in 1 of the deep veins, causes pain, tenderness and swelling in one of the legs. If not treated, pulmonary embolism(a blood clot that moves from its original site and lodges in the lungs) may occur causing breathlessness, chest pain and one can suddenly collapse or even die.
