Venous thrombosis is a blood clot that develops in a vein, one of the most common types of venous thrombosis is deep vein thrombosis(DVT), which is a blood clot in one of the deep veins of the body. Deep venous thrombosis mainly affects the large veins in the lower leg and thigh. The clot can block blood flow. If the clot breaks off and moves through the bloodstream, it can get stuck in the brain, lungs, heart or other area leading to severe damage and or death.
