Symptoms of rabies include fever, anger, confusion, voice changes, muscle pain and paralysis, painful swallowing and excessive saliva. A person with rabies may be very anxious and sensitive to noise and light. They can panic when trying to drink water and when they feel a breeze. It can take days, weeks, or even months after the bite for rabies signs to appear, but the disease develops quickly and is fatal.
