Rabies is a deadly disease caused by a virus that affects your central nervous system and brain. People get rabies after being bitten by an infected animal, usually a dog. If you are bitten, immediately wash the bite wound with plenty of water and soap. Do not cover the wound. Seek treatment IMMEDIATELY at the hospital to avoid serious infection or death. Rabies is always fatal once a person is infected.
