First Aid for burns depends on the kind of burn. For minor burns, run cool water over the area of the burn or soak the burn in cool water (not ice water) for at least 5 minutes. DO NOT put oil or lotions on burns. If blisters form over the burn, do not break them. Seek IMMEDIATE treatment from a trained health worker from the nearest health unit for any type of severe burn.
