Idiopathic Partial Epilepsy, also known as benign focal epilepsy of childhood, begins in childhood (ages 5 and 8) and often effects those with family history of epilepsy. It is one of the mildest forms of epilepsy and is almost always outgrown by puberty. It is never diagnosed in adults. Seizures tend to occur during sleep and are often simple partial seizures that involve only the face.
