Manage epileptic seizures by preventing the patient from self-injury. Move the person away from sharp edges and put something soft beneath the head. Never place objects in the person's mouth during a seizure (they cannot swallow their tongue). If a seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes or begins coming in 'waves' one after the other, contact a health worker IMMEDIATELY. Prolonged seizures may develop into a dangerous condition requiring emergency treatment.
