About 30% of people with psoriasis develop psoriatic arthritis that usually appears between 30-50 and affects men more than women. Main symptoms include: joint pain, stiffness and swelling that can affect any part of the body (including the fingertips and spine) and range from relatively mild to severe. Psoriatic arthritis has no cure, but treatment helps control symptoms and prevent damage to the joints. Without treatment and regular exercise, the arthritis may become disabling.
