Psoriasis has no cure but treatment varies between patients. It is based on the patient's health, age, lifestyle, the type and severity of the psoriasis. Types of treatment are: creams and ointments that are applied to the skin, phototherapy where the skin is exposed to certain types of ultraviolet light, oral and injected medication. Often, different types of treatment are often used in combination and need to be reviewed regularly by the specialist.
