A nearsighted person is more likely to develop eye disorders later in life, such as:retinal tear and detachment, glaucoma and cataracts; squinting causes eyestrain and headaches and impaired safety. Uncorrected nearsightedness affects the quality of life because limited vision detracts from enjoyment of day-to-day activities and one may fail to perform some activities. It is important to get treatment to avoid the problem from getting worse.
