Myopia, also called nearsightedness or short-sightedness, is a common vision condition in which a person sees close objects very well, but has difficulty seeing objects far away. Objects in a distance appear blurry and out of focus, one may squint or frown when trying to see distant objects clearly. Myopia may develop gradually or rapidly, often worsening during childhood and adolescence. Nearsightedness can be mild, moderate, or severe. The person should see an ophthalmologist or optician for management.
