Vitiligo is a chronic condition and repigmentation is rare if a patch has persisted for more than 1yr or if the hair is involved. Spontaneous repigmentation can occur and often starts around the hair follicles, giving a speckled appearance. However, keeping up with your prescribed medication reduces the growth of your patches and camouflage does make the condition bearable.
