The self-help remedies for vitiligo are aimed at reducing the disfigurement the patches cause. Make-up, skin tanning lotions and stains help cover up the patches in exposed areas. Sunscreen also helps by preventing burning. Use of folic acid, vitamin B complex, Vitamin E and Vitamin D may help. You should consider counseling to help deal with the anxiety or depression sometimes associated with the condition.
