The cornea is a part of the eye that is located in front of the iris, the coloured part of the eye. It is filled with fluid and is important for normal vision. A corneal ulceration is a open sore in the cornea. It may occur with an infection of the conjunctiva, the clear film covering the white of the eye. A corneal ulcer is a medical emergency and medical help should be sought immediately.
