Diabetic retinopathy usually has no symptoms until the damage to your eyes is severe. You may have blurred vision with gradual loss of vision and difficulty seeing at night. You may see floaters and shadows or missing areas of vision. Your symptoms may not be apparent until bleeding occurs in your eyes. This may be frightening but it can be controlled by regular eye check ups when you are diagnosed with diabetes.
