Anal itching refers to itchy skin around the anus that causes a strong desire to scratch. Common causes of anal itching include infections, diarrhoea, constipation, haemorrhoids and infection of the anus or rectum. Pin worms from the stomach, scabies or yeast infections in the skin can also cause anal itching. Anal itching can be a sign of a more serious medical issue. See a health worker for correct diagnosis and treatment if you experience anal itching.
