Diabetes complications - Mother

If you are diagnosed with diabetes during pregnancy, it is important to follow health care advice to avoid complications. You are at risk of developing high blood pressure, increased fluid around the baby, accelerated growth of the baby and early delivery. During labour you are likely to undergo more monitoring compared to the ordinary mums, you are likely to require a caesarean and you may be at risk of other labour and delivery related complications.
