People living with HIV(PLWHA) are at a higher risk for malaria because of weakened immunity and usually they get stronger symptoms of malaria due to a weakened immune system and have higher risk of dying from malaria as a result. Malaria can also lead to faster development of HIV into AIDS because of increased viral load. PLWHA must seek treatment IMMEDIATELY from the nearest health facility or village health team at the first sign of malaria and make sure to sleep under a long-lasting insecticide-treated net EVERY night.
