Sleeping under a long-lasting insecticide-treated net (LLIN) every night is a safe and effective way of protecting yourself from malaria. These mosquito nets are permanently treated with an insecticide that has proven to be safe to humans including: pregnant women and their unborn children. Nets not only act as a physical barrier between the mosquito and you but also kill and repel the mosquitoes. The net can be washed when dirty with normal soap and water and the insecticide will still be effective.
