Shortness of breath is a condition where you feel like you can't get enough air or your chest feels tight. The feeling can be worse when you are physically active or when you lie down flat. Other symptoms include cough, chest pains or fever. Shortness of breath can be caused by problems with the breathing passages, lungs, heart or blood vessels, infection, anaemia, heart attack, diabetes, kidney failure, obesity, smoking and anxiety. Rush to the nearest health unit for help if you have these symptoms.
