There are 4 clear symptoms of asthma:shortness of breath, wheezing, cough and chest tightness. You are short of breath after effort or at night. Wheezing is a whistling or hissing sound when you breath out. The cough is worse at night and early morning; it can come after exercise or in cold, dry air. Chest tightness can happen with or without the other 3 symptoms.
