A woman who is a twin, or who has a close relative like a mother or sister who is a twin, has higher chances of having twins herself. Older women(aged 35 and above), women who have had twins before, have just stopped using birth control pills, or are taking fertility drugs have higher chances of giving birth to twins. There are 2 types of twins identical and fraternal twins(non-identical twins).
