The emergency pill stops pregnancy if taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. It does not protect you from HIV/AIDS and STIs or stop you getting pregnant again in the future. The emergency pill should NOT be used regularly or as family planning- using it often could damage your health and fertility. SEX WITH NO CONDOM PUTS YOU AT RISK OF HIV/AIDS and STIs. GET TESTED and ALWAYS USE A CONDOM. If it has been more than 72 hours since you had unprotected sex an IUD might be an option to stop a possible pregnancy.
