Stress affects the mind, body and behaviour. Everyone experiences it differently. Stress can cause headaches, back pain, diarrhoea, nausea, dizziness, chest pain and rapid heartbeat. It can make you fall sick more often, reduce your sex drive, cause poor sleep, fatigue and irritability. Stress can lead to excessive use of alcohol and cigarettes and chronic stress can even cause depression. If you experience any stress-related symptoms see a trained health worker for a full examination because these symptoms may be signs of other diseases.
