To diagnose onchocerciasis, your doctor may order skin biopsies('snips') or blood tests to find antibodies to the parasite. These methods are not 100% sure. The parasites are not always found in skin snips and positive blood tests don't necessarily mean you are still infected with Onchocerca worm.
