There are treatments for onchocerciasis, eg ivermectin, available to kill the larvae in your body and thus prevent the symptoms of the disease, eg skin rash and blindness. Other treatments, eg to kill the adult worms, also exist. Surgery is sometimes required in severe elephantiasis. You should discuss your treatment options with your health care provider.
