Molluscum contagiosum is a skin infection that is caused by a large virus called the Poxvirus. Molluscum contagiosum can affect men, women and children. Children between the ages of 2-12 are the most at risk because they haven't had the chance to build up immunity to the virus(boys more often than girls).HIV has increased the occurrence of this condition.
