Leprosy or Hansen's disease is a chronic infectious disease caused by bacteria. It is passed from person to person by breathing in droplets that get in the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Children and people with weak immunity are more likely to get leprosy because their system cannot fight the bacteria.
