Chronic kidney disease has no cure, but you can control or slow kidney damage. You can do this by controlling blood pressure and blood sugar, losing weight, exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet and avoiding cigarettes, alcohol and drugs not prescribed by a doctor. Kidney failure may be treated with medications or a special treatment called dialysis. Seek early diagnosis and treatment for all urinary tract infections and lower back pain to avoid complications.
