Migraines have no cure. However, medications used to combat migraines are in 2 broad categories:pain-relieving medications where drugs are taken during migraine attacks to stop symptoms and preventive medications where drugs are taken regularly, to reduce the severity or frequency of migraines. They should only be given by a qualified doctor because some medications are not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women and children.
