Most people do not need treatment for sleep paralysis. In severe cases, when episodes take place at least once a week for 6 months, medication may be used. Treating any underlying conditions such as narcolepsy may also help. Sleep paralysis episodes may be minimised by following good sleep patterns, getting enough sleep, reducing stress and exercising regularly(but not too close to bedtime). If you suffer from sleep paralysis, seek diagnosis and treatment from the nearest health unit.
