Pulmonary edema is an abnormal accumulation of fluids in the sacs of the lungs. If it occurs acutely, it is a life-threatening emergency. The fluid makes breathing difficult and leads to shortness of breath and anxiety because of this. The fluid increases in volume and amount if the condition leading to it is not sorted.
