Eczema is usually diagnosed by a physical examination performed by your doctor. Depending on your pattern of skin symptoms, your doctor will ask you questions about your personal and family allergy history and previous exposure to chemicals or common irritants. If your doctor is in doubt she/he may refer you to a skin specialist called a dermatologist.
