Pulmonary hypertension is usually the complication of other diseases of the lung, heart, liver, clotting diseases and rheumatological conditions. It is also a complication of certain drug use and HIV. Complications of pulmonary hypertension include heart arrhythmias(abnormal heart beat), blood clots and right-sided heart failure(cor pulmonale).These conditions are life threatening.
