To prevent parasitic dermatophytosis, don't share clothes, sports equipment, towels, sheets. If you suspect contact with ringworm, wash clothes in hot water with fungicidal soap. Wear protective shoes in locker rooms and sandals at the beach. Pets with bald spots are often carriers of the fungus-don't touch them.
