An ultrasound scan uses sound waves to produce an image of the inside of your womb(uterus).If you're in the early stages of pregnancy(less than 6-7wks), it's sometimes not possible to tell if your pregnancy is progressing in an unusual way that might indicate a miscarriage. If this is the case, you may need to have another scan in 7-10days time.
