Bed-wetting is caused by involuntary urination during sleep after the age at which bladder control is expected. Primary bed-wetting is when a child has not yet stayed dry on a regular basis. Secondary bed-wetting is when a child or adult begins wetting again after having stayed dry for some time. Causes of bed-wetting include urinary tract infection (UTI), emotional disturbance, illness or excessive intake of fluids before sleep. For diagnosis and treatment, have a health worker carefully examine you or your child.
