Primary bed-wetting is when a child cannot hold urine for the entire night and fails to wake up when his or her bladder is full. On average, children achieve night-time dryness by the age of 6. Sometimes the child has poor daytime toilet habits and some children ignore the urge to urinate and put off urinating as long as they can, leading to bed-wetting. Children should avoid excess fluid intake before sleeping. If bed-wetting continues, visit the nearest health unit to check for illnesses or problems.
