Complementary feeding - Texture

Choosing the right texture of solid foods is very important. Too hard or too lumpy foods are a choking hazard to your baby. To develop your baby's chewing skills, avoid giving soft foods for too long. Too thin and dilute foods will only fill up your baby's stomach and prevent him or her from eating enough. A good example of the right texture to start with is the texture of a thick yogurt. Gradually add more texture to your baby's food as your baby develops.
