Chancroid is a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).You get it by having unprotected sex with an infected person. If not treated, it becomes VERY painful and makes you much more likely to catch HIV and other STIs. So, its important to get treated IMMEDIATELY-only trained health workers can diagnose it and it is easy to treat. ALL sex partners must be treated or you will get infected again. ALWAYS use condoms to prevent chancroid, HIV and other STIs.
