Tuberculosis(TB) is a disease that usually attacks the lungs but can also affect other parts of the body like bones, skin, joints and the brain. A pregnant woman with TB is more likely to suffer from miscarriage or premature labour. She needs special care during pregnancy, must go to the antenatal clinic and deliver at a health unit. This ensures she has assistance for a safe delivery. After delivery, the baby needs to be given TB prevention therapy.
