Malaria is a serious and sometimes fatal disease caused by a parasite carried by mosquitoes. When a mosquito bites a person infected with malaria it takes a small amount of their blood-so the mosquito is then carrying blood containing malaria. When the mosquito bites the next person it injects these malaria parasites into the person being bitten. People who get malaria usually have high fevers, shaking, chills and flu symptoms. See a health worker for an accurate diagnosis and treatment.
