Heat rash can be identified by its appearance and may not require medical attention. When you or your child have a rash, it is important to watch for signs of infection, including increased pain, swelling, redness, warmth around the infected area and drainage of pus, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpit, or groin and fever or chills with no other known cause. Seek medical care and treatment IMMEDIATELY if any of these symptoms develop, or if the rash does not go away after 3 or 4 days or appears to be getting worse.
