Herpes can be passed to your baby during delivery, especially if you have symptoms when you give birth. You may have sores inside your vagina which you cannot see/feel. If you think you have herpes tell your midwife before delivery so that steps can be taken to prevent infection of your child. Using condoms while you are pregnant can reduce the risk of you getting a herpes outbreak during that time.
