Genital Herpes is a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).You get herpes by having oral or penetrative sex with an infected person. Condoms reduce the risk of catching it. There is no cure-herpes comes and goes over time. Go to a clinic for medicine to ease the symptoms. If you have symptoms of ANY STI it's important not to have sex as you will infect others. If you have herpes you are more at risk of catching HIV/AIDS. If you have ANY wounds on private parts, DO NOT have sex until you are treated and wounds are gone. Even then, there is still great potential for shedding the virus-condom use is still important.
