Tuberculous peritonitis develops when the bacteria that causes TB spreads either directly or through the blood and settles in the wall of the sac containing abdominal organs called peritoneum. Usually this presents as abdominal pain, distension or vomiting accompanied by fevers, weight loss or night sweats. Treatment is by taking the TB medication as prescribed by your doctor.
