Pneumocystosis in the lungs usually begins with mild but gradually worsening symptoms. Shortness of breath is the most common symptom. This occurs at first during exertion but later it occurs even at rest. A cough that usually produces no mucus or, in smokers, only thin, clear mucus. Other non-specific symptoms associated with all pneumocystosis:fevers, shivering, sweating, sweats and great tiredness.
