Normally, if your child suffers from rickets, there is usually a complete healing and restoration of normal structures. However, bone tissue changes and structural distortion of the affected part may occur after healing and may remain visible for several years. Thickening of parts of bone involved during the active stage of rickets may also persist. The child may have bony angulation deformities as a result of rickets, fractures leading to knock-knee, bow-leg and sabershin. These are categorized into skull, spine, joints, limbs and ligaments.
